PaRx (Park Prescriptions) is Canada’s premier evidence-based nature prescription program, initiated by the BC Parks Foundation and backed by major healthcare organizations across Canada.

Healthcare Prescribers

  • Who They Are: Licensed healthcare professionals (physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, etc.).

  • Their Role: Write formal nature prescriptions and provide evidence-informed guidance on outdoor time. Registered prescribers receive a customized prescription file, unique provider codes, and patient education tools.

  • Registration: Healthcare providers can register to prescribe nature directly through the PaRx Prescriber Portal.

PaRx Connectors

  • Who They Are: Certified, allied nature-based professionals who provide the practical pathway for individuals to fulfill their prescriptions.

  • Their Role: While only healthcare providers issue prescriptions, Connectors bridge the gap by providing guided experiences, building outdoor confidence, and helping individuals translate a written prescription into a sustainable lifestyle habit.
