The Art of Slowing Down
In our fast-paced world, we often move through nature without truly seeing it. ForestLens invites you to pause. Through the practice of Forest Bathing, we trade the "speed of life" for the "Dormancy of the Forest."
These are not hikes for distance, but journeys in “Presence and being in the “Now”.
Guided by the principles of the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT), our walks offer a series of "invitations"—gentle prompts designed to open your senses and deepen your connection to the living world. The primary objective is to assist you in reconnecting with nature, yourself, and the subtle beauty of the landscape.
Where We Walk
Whether the forest is a vibrant green or tucked under a blanket of winter snow, ForestLens offers guided experiences through all four seasons.
We host these walks across the Greater Edmonton area, including the municipalities of Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, Devon, and Drayton Valley. From the iconic North Saskatchewan river valley to the quiet woods of Parkland County , Strathcona County, Brazeau County and Yellowhead County.
Each location provides a unique, seasonal backdrop for discovery and presence.
Winter Walks
The crisp, frigid air bites gently at your cheeks, instantly awakening your senses as you step into the profound, heavy silence of the snow-covered landscape. Stripped of their summer canopy, the surrounding trees reveal their stark, beautiful architecture, inviting you to slow down and witness the forest's quiet dormancy.
Returning frequently to a crackling fire, you find a warm, grounding basecamp that melts away the winter chill and stokes your internal spirit.
Ultimately, attending a winter walk offers a rare opportunity to step away from the rush of daily life, trading winter isolation for a deep, restorative connection with both nature and your own resilient spirit.
